Wankou Hotel, Zhongzheng (Chiayi)

The room was basic but cozy, with an electric blanket that made our nights warm and comfortable even without central heating. I really appreciated this thoughtful accommodation, especially in winter. Opening the balcony door in the morning let in fresh mountain air, which was refreshing!

I loved the local Taiwanese breakfast served at a nearby restaurant, just a 5-minute walk away. The food was tasty and plentiful. It had all the traditional flavors that made my mornings special, and it was a great way to fuel up for our activities.

Though the bathroom was a bit chilly without any heating, the hotel provided heating pads in the room which made up for it. It was clean and well-maintained, which I found comforting during my stay. A little bit of warmth would have been nice, but overall, it worked perfectly for a short visit.

The hotel helped arrange a sunrise viewing activity, which was undoubtedly the highlight of my trip. I loved being able to explore the beautiful surroundings and witness the unkai (sea of clouds) while taking in the stunning views. It is an experience I will cherish.
